So I’ve been busy catching up on emails since I got back from Texas, and I just came across a couple featurettes on the “Changing Gears” short (formerly titled “Breakdown”).
“Changing Gears” is a short I’ve been DP’ing for director Jason Walsh and producer Nick Mayleck. Jason and Nick had produced a few videos for Nokia, and were looking to develop some experience making narrative shorts. It wasn’t the kind of project I would normally jump on, but upon meeting them, I respected how professional, organized, and serious they were in their approach (a rare find for a tiny, no budget short), so I was interested in getting to know them.
Anyway, while I was away, Jason put these 2 featurettes together using the footage we shot back in July. The first offers a comparison of the actors rehearsing with the actual footage we filmed. The actors include Nick, as well as Chris Amirault and Sara Farkas:
