The American Lung Association’s (ALA) 2012 Fight For Air Climb was held February 4th at Boston’s Mellon Financial Center, which was my second year covering the event. There were over 1000 participants that came out this year, tackling 41 floors of stairs, for a total of 789 steps and an elevation gain of 493 feet, all in the name of raising awareness for the 35 million Americans who suffer from asthma.
These videos are used by the ALA as a recruitment vehicle, to help participants raise donations, and to find event sponsors. According to Erin Hickey, the event organizer, last year’s video was so successful, “it practically did the recruitment job” for them! Here are the highlights of the 2012 event! A special thanks to CDIA student Sumanth Molakala who helped cover second camera the morning of. Thanks Sumanth!
